Frequently Asked Questions about our Passenger & Freight Service

 
 

 

Q. How far in advance do I have to buy my ticket, and is there a discount to buy in advance?
A. Tickets can be purchased up to 15 minutes prior to a scheduled departure time, and no, there is no longer a discount to buy in advance.  Ticket prices will be the same if you buy 5 days before your travel date, or 5 minutes before departure.
   
   
Q. How many bags am I allowed?
A. We allow each passenger with a full fare ticket (Adult, Student or Senior fare) is allowed to have 2 medium-sized bags and one carry-on of essentials only.  Additional bags are $5.00 each and must be paid for prior to boarding.  Any additional baggage that has not been paid for will not be permitted on the bus.
   
   
Q. What is the policy of Caribou Coach in regard to the travel of underage minors?
A. Caribou Coach will permit underage travelers to ride our buses on their own provided they are between the ages of 8 and 14.  Regular passenger fares apply (child fare for those age 10 and under, and student fare for those 11 and up) along with a $10.00 service charge and appropriate form supplied by Caribou Coach and completed by the parent/guardian of the traveler.
   
   
Q. Where do I go for passenger tickets or freight?
A. Tickets and freight shipments can be purchased at any of our agencies.  Please visit the Tickets & Freight Locations page for more details.  Passenger tickets can also be purchased from the driver at non-agency locations (exact fare, cash sales only  please when purchasing directly from the driver).
   
   
Q. Can I be picked-up or dropped-off at a location other than the scheduled bus agencies?
A. Yes.  We try to accommodate  requests for pick-up and drop-offs at locations of your choice, as long as you already have your ticket, and do not have baggage that must be stowed underneath the coach, and the location you have requested is safe.  Our drivers have the right to refuse a request if they feel that it is an unsafe location.  Please call the closest agency to advise of your pick-up location at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled bus arrival time.
   
   
Q. Are Pets allowed on the bus?
A. No, we cannot allow pets on the bus.  Passengers that require the assistance of a guide dog are excused from this policy.
